Former client and experienced technology leader joins as CovertSwarm defines Continuous Offensive Security Testing (COST), uniting human attacker ingenuity and agentic capability to outpace real adversaries.
CovertSwarm has appointed Graham Haythornthwaite as Technical Director, effective 1 September 2026. Reporting to Luke Potter, COO, he brings nearly 30 years of product, engineering and cybersecurity leadership to IT, product and Portal engineering, accelerating the technology and agentic capability behind Constant Cyber Attack.
CovertSwarm is defining COST to fundamentally challenge how offensive security is bought and delivered. The conventional industry remains organized around fixed-scope tests and point products that examine isolated slices of risk. Real adversaries do not: they follow intent, chain opportunities, adapt and keep moving until they reach their objective.
Constant Cyber Attack continuously simulates and emulates that reality across an organization’s full brand and attack surface – digital, physical and social. Frontier AI models and purpose-built agents augment research, reconnaissance, analysis and repeatable attack activity. The model remains human-directed: agents bring speed and scale; employed hackers set intent, apply judgement, improvise and adapt. This is not another autonomous scanner or point product. It is a continuously delivered offensive capability built to help clients outpace the threat.
“The industry has spent decades selling moments in time and is now filling the gaps with point products. Attackers don’t care which tool you bought or when your next test is. They follow intent, adapt and keep going. We aren’t building another point solution. We’re defining COST around a different premise: continuously simulate and emulate the real adversary, combining human ingenuity and agentic capability to outpace the threat. Graham’s appointment accelerates that vision by bringing the Swarm, product and Portal closer together.”said Luke Potter, COO at CovertSwarm.
A former CovertSwarm client, Graham understands the model from the other side of the offering.
“As a client, I saw the difference between buying another product and gaining persistent access to an attacker mindset. The opportunity now is to turn human and agentic capability into one joined-up experience: keeping the Swarm fast and adaptive while giving clients clarity and control through the Portal. My focus is to scale that model without diluting what makes it disruptive.”said Graham Haythornthwaite, Technical Director at CovertSwarm.
About CovertSwarm
CovertSwarm is defining COST through Constant Cyber Attack: a subscription giving clients continuous access to employed hackers, augmented by AI and purpose-built agents, to simulate and emulate real adversaries across digital, physical and social attack surfaces. The Swarm pursues attacker intent and exposes chained paths to material impact. CovertSwarm also delivers CREST-accredited CBEST, STAR-FS and targeted penetration testing. Founded in 2020, it operates across the UK, Spain and US.
