About CovertSwarm

CovertSwarm is a globally operated professional security service and SaaS platform provider. Our goal is simple: We aim to constantly compromise our clients and provide them expert advice to improve their security posture.  

Our Hives – specialist professional service teams – ‘swarm’ around our targets, always looking for a new way to compromise them.  

The Offensive Operations Centre is the centralised SaaS platform used for our customer interaction and communication, which also supports the ‘Hive’ professional service teams in their day-to-day activities.

Role & Responsibilities

As a software developer within CovertSwarm you will help to accelerate our Offensive Operations Center product.

The Offensive Operations Center provides customers with the ability to stay ahead of the curve with their security awareness, and is used by our professional services team in maintaining a positive pressure of cyber compromise against our rapidly expanding client base. 

The general responsibilities of the role include:

  • Design, develop, and maintain the software of our SaaS platform.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using common industry best practices with both performance and scalability in mind.
  • Peer-review and collaborate with the team to ensure the highest code quality.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and other supporting documentation.
  • Participate in the complete software development life cycle. This includes requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Investigate, collaborate, and resolve technical issues reported by customers or our internal teams.
  • Monitor, maintain, and improve upon both our codebase and infrastructure performance.
  • Work with our product team and UX skilled colleagues to meet the needs and exceed expectations of our customers.
  • Keep up to date with technologies, frameworks, and industry trends and share this information with colleagues.

Who we are looking for

Having a curious mind, and excellent problem-solving skills will be vital as you face exciting challenges and shape and adopt new ways of product development thinking to help maintain our competitive advantage. Through our platform’s rapidly increasing feature set, we aim to ‘break the mould’ of traditional cyber tooling with your passionate involvement in the design and implementation of the product further bolstering its success. 

As a software developer you will need to have the ability to learn fast, whilst keeping an open mind, and quickly integrate into a small, dedicated remote team that was founded on the principles of ‘radical candor’ and with access for you to be fully supported by your peers and our leadership from the moment you start with us. 

Experience with (at least) several of the following: 

  • Angular / Typescript.
  • NodeJS.
  • Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian).
  • Familiarity with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc. 
  • Python 3.
  • Cloud platforms such as AWS (Amazon Web Services).
  • DevOps practices and CICD.
  • Scripting languages, such as Bash, Golang, or even lower-level languages such as C++ are welcome.

We do not require applicants to have an alphabet of certifications, as we want to meet talented, curious developers with practical experience and a deep passion for working to improve cybersecurity for both our customers and ourselves.
