About CovertSwarm

CovertSwarm is a globally operated professional security service and SaaS platform provider. Our goal is simple: We aim to constantly compromise our clients and provide them expert advice to improve their security posture.

Our Hives – specialist professional service teams – ‘swarm’ around our targets, always looking for a new way to compromise them.

The Offensive Operations Centre is the centralised SaaS platform used for our customer interaction and communication, which also supports the ‘Hive’ professional service teams in their day-to-day activities.

Role & Responsibilities

As a software developer within CovertSwarm you will help to accelerate our Offensive Operations Center product.

The general responsibilities of the role include:

  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using common industry best practices with both performance and scalability in mind.
  • Peer-review and collaborate with the team to ensure the highest code quality.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and other supporting documentation.
  • Participate in the complete software development life cycle. This includes requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Investigate, collaborate, and resolve technical issues reported by customers or our internal teams.
  • Monitor, maintain, and improve upon both our codebase and infrastructure performance.
  • Work with our product team and UX skilled colleagues to meet the needs and exceed expectations of our customers.
  • Keep up to date with technologies, frameworks, and industry trends and share this information with colleagues.

Who we are looking for

Through our platform’s rapidly increasing feature set, we aim to ‘break the mould’ of traditional cyber tooling with your passionate involvement in the design and implementation of the product further bolstering its success.

As a software developer you will need to have the ability to learn fast, whilst keeping an open mind, and quickly integrate into a small, dedicated remote team that was founded on the principles of ‘radical candor’ and with access for you to be fully supported by your peers and our leadership from the moment you start with us.

Experience with (at least) several of the following:

  • Angular / Typescript.
  • NodeJS.
  • Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian).
  • Familiarity with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
  • Python 3.

  • DevOps practices and CICD.
  • Scripting languages, such as Bash, Golang, or even lower-level languages such as C++ are welcome.

Aside from working with some of the most talented and passionate people in the industry we can also offer you:

  • Our salary band is up to £68,000 depending upon experience for the software developer role.
  • A fully remote (working from home – ‘anywhere in the world’) role with only the need to travel when in-person meetings are required or we are running our quarterly company meetings.
  • Work when you want – That does not have to be a 9-5, but we only ask that the job is done well, and core meetings are attended online.
  • We all go to DEF CON, every year (well, when it is not cancelled!) .
  • Unlimited Training – If it is relevant and will help you develop your skills and knowledge to improve CovertSwarm’s services and product offering, then you can do whatever training you need to fulfil this.
  • Unlimited Holiday – We all need downtime, take it, whenever you need it. There are no prizes for burnout. You work to live, not live to work.
  • No corporate politics The continued growth of CovertSwarm as a business, the team, and the quality of our services depends upon us being radically candid with one another. Always.

We pay good salaries, have a brilliant culture, and our Board are even hackers too! If you are just chasing the biggest pay packet or are driven by your ego, then we are not for you, and you are not for us.
