As a result, we provide security insights and advice based upon our client’s controls and mitigating solutions and propose improvements that can be made from a training, process, and physical control perspective.

The role

CovertSwarm has rapidly grown to become a trusted cyber partner for a significant number of global brands.

This growth has been through trusted networks, referrals, partnerships and attributed to our reputation for delivering insights and value that go far beyond that offered by the traditional world of ‘snapshot’ cyber penetration testing and red teaming.

We are looking for an experienced, tenacious, and creative Head of Marketing to help expand our client base in the US, APAC, and EMEA as we continue to build our global cyber security brand.

The role is a remote UK role, with expectations to meet in London on a weekly basis.

This is a hands-on marketing role, where you’ll be responsible for formulating and implementing our marketing strategy as well as managing day-to-day marketing operations, with a direct impact on the company’s brand, marketing activity and commercial results.

CovertSwarm is fast-paced, demanding, and seeks some with resilience, tenacity, and ambition. Creative thinking, ‘not following the herd’, a close attention to detail and a high degree of organisation need to be qualities that you pride yourself on. Alongside this, you’ll have input into strategic decisions and long-term planning for the marketing strategy through proximity to our CEO. You’ll be joining our business development team focused on growing brand awareness and salience, and to manage the delivery a reliable stream of qualified leads.

If you feel that show stands, large PPC budgets, and ‘SEO’ are the default answer to everything you are not for us. We have grown through thinking and behaving differently, and repeating what all other vendors do in our industry won’t achieve our ambitious goals.

You will have a strong understanding of the marketing ecosystem and possess an excellent grasp of marketing fundamentals as well as where to invest (and avoid investing!) the marketing budget each financial year.

One of your strongest qualities should be bringing people together to create valuable content that articulates the value proposition that separates CovertSwarm from legacy pentest and red team consultancies, and Attack Surface Management firms.

We have employed some of the leading experts in our industry. As one of these your role will be to make the most of our collective knowledge and continue to build a leading brand with a global presence to deliver impactful and measurable results across digital and traditional marketing channels.

You must be a self-starter, there is no micromanagement at CovertSwarm. Ownership, leadership, and accountability are what makes us great as a Swarm of bright minds.

What will you be doing

You will report directly to the CEO and work with our Chief Revenue Officer and other senior business leaders to develop a coherent marketing strategy and tactical plans aligned to an agreed budget each financial year.

  • Responsible for managing the CovertSwarm marketing budget
  • Be the guardian of the CovertSwarm brand
  • Manage the day to day relationship, output and performance of our marketing support agency (Hallam)
  • Oversee multiple monthly content production (scheduling, editing, authoring, QAing, and publishing)
  • Media/podcast guest coordination and production support
  • Envisage and deliver collateral consistent with our commercial strategy and reinforcing our brand (proposals, slides, brochures, physical collateral etc)
  • Regular website content addition/editing and hosting management
  • Daily management and creation of content across all organic social media channels in line with brand guidelines and marketing strategy
  • Business Development event support and coordination (workshops; round tables; attendance to industry events etc.)
  • Management of sponsorship and advertising
  • Partnership/Reseller marketing support
  • Award application processing
  • Working closely with CovertSwarm’s Business Development team to enable conversion of leads and proposals through bi-directional insight sharing
  • Report as part of the Leadership Team on marketing performance and associated KPIs.
  • We believe in a healthy tension between Sales and Marketing functions and you would oversee the necessary balance between sales-activation and brand-building activities to deliver increased awareness and a consistent stream of MQLs
  • Manage our inbound and outbound lead generation activities, including clear measurement, reporting on results, and meeting pre-agreed targets
  • Take a leading role in the promotion of our international expansion strategy, including establishing CovertSwarm in new overseas territories.
  • Work to consistently improve the delivery of valuable content to our existing clients

Minimum requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior B2B marketing role
  • Understanding of Google Analytics and fundamentals of effective marketing KPIs
  • Solid knowledge and a demonstrable experience of having successfully employed marketing fundamentals and theory to meet commercial objectives
  • Strong digital marketing experience encompassing modern ABM techniques and thinking to support the hunt for new prospects via associated outbound activity
  • Demonstrable understanding of the cyber and technology markets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary and benefits

Up to £50,000 per year, plus benefits.
